George Brooks (1819–1861)

George was born on 22 May, 1819 in the parish of Weybread in Suffolk, Englanda1,b1, the only known son of Rebecca Brooks (1795–1850)★. His father is not known. He was baptised as an infant on 25 Jul, 1819 at St. Andrew's Church in Weybread, Suffolk, Englanda1,b1. He is Ian's 3x great grandfather.

He married Frances Snowling (1819–1885)★, a servant, on 31 Jan, 1839 at the Church of St. Peter & St. Paul in Fressingfield, Suffolk, Englandc1,d1 . They had six children:–

By the time of the 1841 census he was living in Withersdalek1 with his wife Frances and two children Rebecca and William.

In the 1851 census he was living in Mendhamm1 with his wife Frances and five children Rebecca, William, Anna Maria, Sarah Ann and Betsy.

George was recorded in the 1861 census in Mendhamp1 with his wife Frances and daughter Betsy.

George died at the age of forty-two on 24 May, 1861 in Mendhamd4. His death was attributed to "consumption" (tuberculosis)d4.

He was buried seven days later at All Saints Church, Mendhame3,g2 He was survived by his wife Frances.
