George Henry was born on 2 Feb, 1867 in the parish of Wilby in Suffolk, Englanda1, the son of William Chambers (1833–1879)★, an agricultural labourer, and Rebecca Brooks (1841–1881)★. He was baptised as a child on 4 Apr, 1869 in Wilbyb1. He is Ian's great grandfather.
George was recorded in the 1871 census in Wilbyc1 with his father William, now a labourer, mother Rebecca and four siblings Anna Maria, Rebecca, William George and John.
By the time of the 1881 census he was living at The Street in Wilby, Suffolk, Englandd1 with his mother Rebecca and seven siblings Anna Maria, Rebecca, William George, John, Helen Elizabeth, Robert and James.
He married Louisa Hemmings (1876–1913)★, a general servant, on 23 Dec, 1895 at The Register Office in Newport, Monmouthshire, Walesa2 . They went on to have eight children:–

He was recorded in the 1921 census at 26 Cato Street in Gateshead, County Durham, Englandr1. George was 54, a widower and unemployed. He was living with his children the eldest of whom, Eileen, was taking care of the house and the three youngest children Louisa, Helena and Francis. These three were still attending school. The middle children Hilda, George and William were working to support the combined household. Hilda was a grocer's assistant, George was a wagon man for J. Wilkinson, a manufacturer, while William was working as a pawnbroker's porter.
George died at the age of fifty-six on 9 Dec, 1923 at 26 Cato Street, Gatesheada12. His death was attributed to bronchitis.
He was buried three days later in St. John's Cemetery in Elswick, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, England
