William Joseph Chambers (1905–1988)
William Joseph (known as Bill) was born on 26 Aug, 1905 in Newbridge in Kildare, Irelanda1, the second son of George Henry Chambers (1867–1923)★, a Sergeant in the Royal Field Artillery, and Louisa Hemmings (1876–1913)★, a general servant. He is Ian's grandfather.
William was recorded in the 1911 census at 8 Joseph Street in Elswick, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, Englandb1 with his father George Henry, now a caretaker of laboratory, mother Louisa and six siblings Rebecca, Eileen, Hilda, George Henry, Louisa Alexandra and Helen Mary.
