She was recorded in the 1939 census at Epsom College in Epsom, Surrey, England. Dinah is working as a cook at Epsom College in Surrey. She declared herself to be a widow although she was still married to James who was working in Newcastle upon Tyne.
Dinah died at the age of seventy on 16 Nov, 1959 at "F" Flat, Patterdale House, Patterdale Road in Blyth, Northumberland, Englanda8. Her death was attributed to "congestive heart failure"a8.
