- Maria baptised on 11 Mar, 1810 in the parish of Colchester St Mary Magdalen in Essex, Englandh1. Married George Ponsford in 1828 at St. Mary's Church in Alverstoke, Hampshire, Englandk1,b2,m1 and Richard Lucas in 1860 at Holy Trinity Church in Portsea Holy Trinity, Hampshire, Englandf3.
On the 16 July, 1809, Jane and her daughter Jane, received an allowance of £1-6s to return home on the embarkation of William★'s regiment for foreign service in the Netherlands.p1
On the 24 Oct, 1810, William's regiment embarked for Portugal. Jane and her two daughters, received an allowance of £1-11s to take them home.p2

There is a burial of a Jane Hinksman in Portsmouth, St. Thomas in 1812 which may be Jane Fisher Index of Hampshire Burials 1400-1841

General Notes
n1: The archdeacon's transcripts and the select marriages index give a date of 13 Sep for the marriage whereas the parish register transcript produced by the Kent Family History Society states 30 Sep. However, since the banns were last read on the 11 Sep at Cheriton it seems likely that they married on the 13th and that the 30th is a transcription error.
