General Notes
n1: William most likely died in 1796. The William and Elizabeth departed Gravesend on 12 Feb 1796 and arrived 10 May 1796, returning to Gravesend on 6 Sep 1796. The following voyage departed on the 5 Jan 1797 but did not arrive in Nevis until 13 Jun. In Frances' petition to Trinity House she stated that her youngest child was 2 years old. This is probably John who was born 18 May 1794, so for him to be 2 at the time of the petition it must have been made before 18 May 1797. Since there was no way to send a message back to London while at sea, William's death canot have occured during the 1797 voyage.
