By the time of the 1851 census he was living in Marsworthf1 with his wife Zilpha, a straw plaitter and three children Mary, a straw plaitter, Eliza, a straw plaitter and Charles.

In the 1861 census he was living at Private House in Marsworth, Buckinghamshire, Englandg1 with his wife Zilpha.

William was recorded in the 1871 census at Stanhope Road in Marsworth, Buckinghamshire, Englandh1 with his daughter Eliza.

By the time of the 1881 census he was living at Lock House in Marsworth, Buckinghamshire, Englandk1 with his son William, a canal lockeeper.

William died at the age of eighty-seven on 17 Oct, 1885 at Lock House, Marsworthm1,d2. His death was attributed to "senile decay" (death through old age, possibly including dementia).
