THE SOCIAL EVIL - Jane Peak, a woman advanced in life, was brought before the North Shields magistrates yesterday, charged with harbouring lewd women and loose fellows in her house. She had only very recently come out of gaol, having undergone nine months' imprisonment for a similar offence, having been indicted at the assizes. She was fined 20s and costs.
