Colonial Secretary’s Office23rd July 1824
Sir,
I am directed by the Governor to convey to you his sanction for the temporary occupation of three thousand acres of land in a circle around your stock-yard to be erected at a spot of Ground bearing South-South-East forty miles from Bathurst at the head of Native Dog Creek between the Fish and the New Rivers, and about eight miles from the station under Ticket of Occupation to Mr Thomas Arkell, for the use of your herd as a Grazing run to be placed under the charge of William Snowden, John Hosington and David Rees, Prisoners of the Ship Surry: provided that it is now depasturing by its previous Occupant, that the Cattle kept therein are marked as described in the margin, and until such a time as Government may choose (six months notice being previously given) to revoke this Indulgence, and resume the possession to itself.
