Pelaniah William son of Thomas and Anne Sweetland, abode Axmouth, occ. Labourer
Comments
The name Peleniah is likely to be a mis-spelling of Peninnah, one of the two wives of Elkanah in 1 Samuel 1:2. The vicar started writing "daughter" on the baptism entry probably because he knew the biblical reference.
