Transcription
A letter from Mr. Leslie of Nth. Shields was read out with reference to the boys wishing to go to sea. The Clerk was directed to write to him stating that two Boys of the ages 16 and 14 were willing to be bound apprentice to him for the sea service and that they would have the outfit as mentioned in his letter, but the Board felt it was their duty as Guardians of the Boys to request him to give some reference as to respectability.
