In the 1861 census he was living at High Street in Sharnbrook, Bedfordshire, Englandd1 with his son Thomas, a bricklayer.

George died at the age of seventy-one on 12 Jan, 1865 in Sharnbrookb3. His death was attributed to "natural decay" (death through old age)b3.
