  • Susannah born on 3 Dec, 1848 at Saint James Street in Doncaster, Yorkshire, Englandc3. Married John James Hill on 6 Aug, 1874 at St. John's Church in Spittlegate, Lincolnshire, Englandd1,e1.
  • Eliza born in 1852 in the parish of Newark on Trent in Nottinghamshire, England. Married Jonathan Richard Smith on 23 Nov, 1876 at St. John's Church in Spittlegate, Lincolnshire, Englande2.
  • William born in 1855 in the parish of Spittlegate in Lincolnshire, England.

William was recorded in the 1871 census at Inner Street in Spittlegate, Lincolnshire, Englandh1 with his wife Mary and two children Susannah, a dressmaker and William, a whitesmith.

By the time of the 1881 census he was living at 53 Inner Street in Spittlegate, Lincolnshire, Englandk1 with his wife Mary and daughter Millicent Mary, a washerwoman.

In the 1891 census he was living at 53 Inner Street, Spittlegatem1 with his daughter Millicent Mary, now a charwoman.

William died on 19 Aug, 1893 at 53 Inner Street, Spittlegatec4,d2. His death was attributed to "senile decay" (death through old age, possibly including dementia)c4.

William Sharp Place of Birth #

  • in the 1851 census he states “Lincolnshire, Adlingfleet”. Adlingfleet is in Yorkshire but on the border with Lincolnshire.

  • in the 1861 census he states “Lincs, Adlingfleet”.

  • in the 1871 census he states “Lincs, Adlingfleet” but Lincs has been struck through and replaced with Yorks.

  • in the 1881 census he states “Lincs, Stillingfleet”. Stillingfleet is in parish iin Yorkshire, between York and Selby

  • in the 1891 censuus he claims “Haddlingfleet, Lincs”. This could be Adlingfleet again.

There is no trace of him in the Adlingfleet parish registers.
