Research Notes
Millwright? #
Baptism entry of son George in 1727 in the Buckinghamshire Baptism Index includes this text in the Residence field: “Sympswan, Milrit”. This could be Simpson (the place) and Millwright (occupation). A millwright was someone who was skilled in the construction or repair of mills. We’d need to see the original baptism entry to be surer.
