Another couple of certificates arrived today. First, the birth of my ancestor Matthew Hall’s youngest sibling, Sarah:

Birth at Hartley, Earsdon on 18 February 1840 of Sarah, daughter of George Hall and Margaret Hall, formerly Richardson. He was a collier. The informant was Margaret Hall, mother, Hartley. She could not sign her name. Registered 9 March 1840.

And the death of their father:

Death at Hartley, Earsdon on 14 April 1848 of George Hall, male, age 50 years, a collier. Cause of death was [Drysporoed?] Dropsy certified. The informant was Margaret Hall, present at the death, Hartley. She could not sign her name, Registered 5 May 1848
