Today two more death certificates arrived:

Death at Bebside Colliery, Cowpen, Northumberland on 10 December 1878 of Mary Hall, female, age 55 years, wife of Matthew Hall, Coal Miner. Cause of death was Dyspeptic Diarrhoea 10 days certified. The informant was William Hall, son, present at the death, Bebside Colliery, Cowpen. Registered 10 December 1878.

Mary Hall is my 3rd great grandmother Mary Miller.

Death at Bebside Colliery, Cowpen, Northumberland on 15 December 1892 of Matthew Hall, male, age 71 years, Coal Miner. Cause of death was Cancer of Liver, 1 month, certified. The informant was William Hall, son, present at the death, Bebside Colliery, Cowpen. Registered on 16 December 1892.

Matthew was Mary’s wife. There is nothing surprising in these certificates but their similarity shows how little had changed in the 15 years between their deaths.
